Creed Speaking
In order to receive their Greenhand Degree, students will have to memorize and recite the FFA Creed. As a class project of Ag 1 students will need to memorize and recite the Creed.
Conduct of Chapter Meetings
All freshmen will learn about Parliamentary Procedure and prepare for participation in the Conduct of Chapter Meetings LDE. This event teaches students proper methods for conducting a meeting.
Extemporaneous Speaking
Ag Issues
Extemporaneous Speaking develops the ability to express your thoughts on a given subject without having prepared or rehearsed its content in advance. FFA members have opportunity to formulate their remarks for presentation in a very limited amount of time.
Ag Sales
The Ag Issues event provides an opportunity for students to select, research, plan, and present an agricultural issue. Students will become knowledgeable of a variety of local, state, national, and international issues facing agriculture. By conducting public forums, students will further the awareness of agricultural issues in the local community.
Ag Sales builds skills that are essential for an individual to be successful in the as a salesperson. This event focuses on the "sales process" and includes individual and team selling components.
Job Interview
Participants will develop, practice, and demonstrate skills needed for seeking employment in the industry of agriculture. Each part of the event simulates, as closely as possible, real-world activities that will be used by real-world employers.
Parliamentary Procedure
The Parliamentary Procedure team will be made up of the Chapter Officers. As a part of chapter office, learning to properly run a meeting is an important educational goal. The majority of students will need to have knowledge of how to properly run a meeting some time in their lives.
Ag Broadcasting
The purpose of the Ag Broadcasting/ Journalism event is to foster an understanding and to create an interest in the fields of agriculture and broadcast journalism.
Prepared Public Speaking
This event develops agricultural leadership, communication skills, and promote interest in citizenship by providing member participation in agricultural public speaking activities. Members must present a memorized speech verbatim.
Marketing Plan
The marketing plan event is designed to assist students with developing practical skills in the marketing process through the development and presentation of a marketing plan. Students research and present a marketing plan for an agricultural product, supply or service. It is intended as a activity involving a team working for an actual local agribusiness to support FFA's outreach mission.
